AlertSite and Google Analytics Integration
AlertSite provides Google Analytics
TM data overlay free of charge, as part of the Monitoring Suite core technology. Google Analytics is free from Google. See the Google Analytics
Getting Started Guide.
Google Analytics is only available to AlertSite customers who have authorized us to overlay Google Analytics (GA) data with AlertSite monitoring data. This is done by correlating web pages in an existing Google Analytics Account with selected devices in the AlertSite account.
Google Analytics Data Overlay
The Google Analytics overlay displays a large number of metrics (see the
Supported Google Analytics Metrics table below). For a description of these metrics, go to
Dimensions & Metrics Reference.
To integrate Google Analytics data into your AlertSite console:
- Navigate to Configuration →
Google Analytics
- In STEP 1: Login to your Google Analytics account: Select your Client ID from the dropdown (if you have multiple Google Analytics accounts, click on the Add Account button to reference your other accounts)
- Click the Login button
- In STEP 2: Device mapping: A table with two columns is displayed
- Google Analytics Website Profiles with a dropdown list, initialized to
---NONE---, of your Google Analytics profiles for the logged in account
- AlertSite Devices with a dropdown list, initialized to
---NONE---, of your AlertSite devices
- Click the dropdown menu for your Google Analytics profile to select one
- Click the dropdown menu for the AlertSite device you want mapped to that Analytics Tracking Profile
- To map additional tracking profiles to other AlertSite devices, click
ADD to the right of the last mapping
NOTE: you can map additional AlertSite devices to the same profile if desired
- Click Submit to save your mapping and click OK in the dialog with
Your update has been saved.
AlertSite uploads the Google Analytics data and overlays the data on a graph. Customers can see the data only in their own accounts. Devices that have Google Analytics data applied have a

icon appearing to the right of the device name on the AlertSite Dashboard.
You can click on the icon to display the Google Analytics Setup page.
To see the graph overlay, click the check box to the left of the device name with the GA icon. The graph displays Response Time over Pageviews by default. To select a different secondary (Analytics) metric, click on the "wrench" icon in the upper right of the configuration dialog:
Select the Analytics item you want from the
Display Overlay dropdown, for example,
Visitors:
The Google Analytics data will be displayed over the performance data.
You can also display the overlay on a per-location basis by clicking the
Show Locations check box. Below is an example with all locations selected:
AlertSite access to view customer Google Analytics data combined with AlertSite data is restricted to designated AlertSite employees who have authorized access rights and are under Non-disclosure Agreements.
